a.k.a.

Gary Phillips

A very loving, compassionate, talented man departed on his new adventure on January 17th, 2007. His completely generous nature has left so much with those of us whose lives he touched- and yet I know that I am not the only one who feels as if an enormously loved and loving part of myself is now gone.

I had the great fortune of knowing Gary for 32 years, from the time I was 15 years old. For many of those years, he was my roommate, my housemate, my lover, my boyfriend and my teacher. He was a little boy and a brave man and a little monkey, and he had no shame about any of it.

My friend Gary taught me how to shave, how to drive and parallel park, how to skip stones in a river, how to cue up an LP and tune a guitar - just for starters.

We went camping & fishing and went to England and have met famous people and made stupid mistakes and teased death together, and I miss him more than I can ever say. I really, really, really miss him.

He was, and always will be my best friend.

But then, he had that effect on a lot of people, didn't he.

And maybe like them, I feel more than certain that he's going to have to put up with me and my friendship for all eternity -
Tho I am one big fan among many, many fans.

Please enjoy the pics, and please contact me if you have images, stories, memories, etc. you'd like to share that can be posted here, and celebrate this wonderful man's life.
